Agriturismo Abruzzo

Agritourism is an option for a holiday in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sometimes agritourism includes housework and housework: feeding chickens, milking cows, shaving lambs and more. In Italy, the term 'agriturismo' almost always means a little differently - an option for accommodation in the countryside, where you can live in a private house of an Italian family, eat homemade food, drink local wine and walk in the surroundings.

Abruzzo National park

In terms of flora, the Park has almost 2,000 species of higher plants, in addition to mosses, lichens, algae and fungi. Among the endemic species of iris marsika deserves special mention, which grows only in some areas and which blooms in late spring. Many species of orchids, including the beautiful shoe of Venus or the slipper of the Madonna(Cypripedium calceolus), also with late spring flowering. Another botanical rarity is the black pine of Villetta Barea(Pinus nigra), a relict species that probably dates from the Tertiary in some areas of Camosiara and Val Fondilo). Also in the area of Kamosiara is the mountain pine(Pinus mugo), an ice relic that occupies the vegetation belt under the pastures at high altitude.

Beech is the most common tree in the park and is located between 900 and 1800 meters above sea level, occupying over 60% of the entire surface of the park. Beyond the edge of the woods you will find dwarf, juniper and blueberry.

The high-altitude lawns, which together with meadows and meadows cover more than 30% of the park's surface, occupy ridges and peaks around 1900-2000 meters above sea level. In good weather you can admire the magnificent blooms of incense, ink, primroses, cyclamen, violets, anemones, scilliums, lilies, orchids, stones, ranunculus, asperula, dentaria, ofrida, blacks, lilies, red and martagan of Madonna, and Iris marsica.hepatic.

The principles of the park are definitely the Martian bears and wolves, as the latter are in serious danger of extinction around the seventies of the last century and today instead recover a little in the northern Apennines. Another symbolic species is the wild goat of Abruzzo, closely related to that of the Pyrenees, of which it is a subspecies(Rupicarpa pyrenaica ornata). Thinner than the alpine chamois(Rupicarpa rupicarpa), it has a different face design and longer horns. Other mammals are the squirrel, the fox, the wild cat, the wild boar and the lynx, present with some individuals in the wildest areas. There is no shortage of birds: only seven of the nine species widespread in Italy are present at the peaks. In the formations of mountain pines(Pinus mugo), which occupy the transitional zone between the upper border of the beech forest and the upper grasslands, there is the black bird with a collar, hairpin, golden fish, flounder and cuckoo.

The diversity of Abruzzo's landscape provides a wide range of varied and exciting vacation options.

The highest peaks of the Apennines and the popular resorts of Roccaraso, Rivisondoli, Pescasseroli and Campo Imperatore offer modern ski resorts with a system of slopes for skiing, snowboarding and snow rafting. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the stunning scenery of the Abruzzo National Park, Lazio and Molise. You can practice various sports in the bosom of nature: hiking, mountain biking, and trekking directly in nature reserves such as Gole del Sagittario. The Zompo lo Schioppo waterfall, as well as the Penne and Serranello lakes, are inhabited by the rarest species of birds.

The mountainous landscape of the surroundings of Gran Sasso and Sirente is ideal for mountaineering and rock climbing. For horse-riding enthusiasts, there are many different excursion routes, and the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga park offers many kilometers of horse trail, which runs through protected areas of unique beauty.

The seaside with its beaches and state-of-the-art facilities offers the opportunity to practice any kind of water sport: sailing, canoeing, fishing, windsurfing. Considerable space is also reserved for cycling, which routes run through pine and beech forests. In the evenings, you can enjoy your time in discos, bars and restaurants along the entire coast.

Noteworthy are the archaeological sites preserved in the Valle del Fucino. We are talking about the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Alba Fuchens, which was once located at the foot of Mount Velino, a few kilometers from Avezzano, the ancient Roman houses-mansions “domus" and necropolises. A satellite city of imperial Rome, once it was located on the shore of a lake, which by our time has long dried up.

Going inland from the Adriatic coast, you can see numerous olive groves and vineyards, and when you get to the Pelinha Valley, gastronomy lovers can taste and appreciate the quality of local wines, olive oil and other products typical of this area.

And finally, we will definitely mention local folklore and religious holidays, such important events as the Feast of Forgiveness in L'Aquila, the Feast of the Snake Tamers in honor of St. Dominic in the town of Cocullo, the live Christmas nativity scene in Rivisondoli, September in Lanciano and many more gastronomic festivals " sagra ”, taking place at different times in different towns of Abruzzo. Visit at least one of them!

Climate

The climate of Abruzzo is of the Mediterranean type, it is very mild and pleasant, with few rainy days. In the resort of Abruzzo in Italy, it rarely rains on the coast, and there are no strong cold winds here. The inner part of the resort is dominated by a continental climate, winters are more severe, and droughts are frequent in summer. On the Adriatic Sea, the holiday season is much longer than the usual summer period.
