A detached bungalow of 105 square meters. A living room with open kitchen, equipped with stove, oven, washing machine and refrigerator. Infrared panels provide heating if desired. Annex to the living room a studio with wood stove. Firewood is included in the price. If you take the stairs up, you get to the floor where there are two bedrooms (one with water beds) and a bathroom. In front of the nature house you can enjoy the evening sun under the porch. If necessary, make a wood fire to add to the coziness and comfort. Dogs are welcome under supervision and leashed because of our dogs (they are also always inside or leashed) and cats, not to mention the sheep in the meadow on the estate.

The nature house in Donkerbroek is located on the border of three old Frisian villages around the Duurswouder Heide: Wijnjewoude, Waskemeer and Donkerbroek. The Duurswouder Heide lies across the road. Across this heath, the largest in Friesland, you can walk directly through the woods to Bakkeveen or to the Jan Annebos with its idyllic Freulevijver. Also near Appelscha you can make beautiful walks in the Drents-Friese Wold. The cottage is also an ideal base for people who love cycling. On the border of the three northernmost provinces of the Netherlands is a good place to be and are in a circle of 15 kilometers around the nature house many nostalgic villages within reach, such as Beetsterzwaag, Oldeberkoop, Norg and Veenhuizen. For shopping you can go to Drachten or Oosterwolde. Bakkeveen and Donkerbroek have a small supermarket. Furthermore, you can reach the city of Groningen in half an hour by car. If you come by public transport, the landlords will gladly pick you up at a nearby NS station. They will be happy to mediate the rental of bicycles so that you too can be mobile in this remote spot.
