The nature house is located on a dirt road on four acres of land on the Alva River. That river comes from the nearby Estrela Mountains. It is a modern, simple, very comfortable and cozy cottage, fully equipped, with lots of outdoor light and air and herbs in the garden and in pots. There is a bookcase and you will also find WiFi, deck chairs and armchairs. The river has clean water and offers a beautiful swimming opportunity. If you like peace and quiet, nature and not having to do anything but enjoy yourself, this is the place for you.... If you like a more active vacation, you can go kayaking, paragliding, horseback riding, etcetera. There are several open-air markets every month, where you can eat the piri piri chicken. The nearest shopping village is 10 kilometers away, larger supermarkets are at 20 kilometers. Excursions can be organized upon request.

The flora and fauna is very rich, the flora in summer somewhat less so. Otters were spotted and also the dipper, golden and snake eagle, Egyptian rat, buzzards, black kite, black stork and golden oriole were seen. At night, the bats come by. Wild orchids grow on the land, as well as the crested hyacinth, wild lavender and a variety of plants whose names the landlords do not know. Their organic vegetable garden is also a source of new life for all kinds of insects. Some are a little less welcome, but these are then snatched away by the squatters, hops and red-browed swallows with their offspring.
