On the edge of Nijmegen and the Ooijpolder, in the nature reserve De Gelderse Poort, stands this sustainably built cottage. The nature house stands in the garden of the landlords and is detached, built of wood, straw and loam. From the veranda you look out over the flowery garden and the Waal where the birds are singing! The cottage is comfortably equipped for two people. It has a bedroom, sitting room, private shower and toilet and a small indoor and outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator and with the basic provisions for cooking. The bed will be made for you and towels are provided. The house is heated by a pellet stove (first charge included in the price) and there is no wifi. The car can be parked next to the cottage and bikes are available if needed. It is the perfect base to do one of the many hiking or biking routes in the area or visit the city of Nijmegen.

Fancy a brisk walk, a bike ride or a cup of coffee in the oldest city in the Netherlands? It's all possible here! In the immediate vicinity you will find many nature reserves, such as the Millingerwaard, the Groenlanden, the Reichswald, the Groesbeekse bos and the Duivelsberg. In these areas are numerous hiking and cycling routes, such as the Walk of Wisdom, the N70 and walking routes over the lateral moraine, Waalstrandjes, dikes and cow paths in the polder. Less than two kilometers away is Nijmegen, where you can enjoy its city parks, museums, breweries, events, culture and music in the former Honig factory, the Goffertpark and concert hall Doornroosje.
