An attractive farmhouse on a meadow in the middle of the rural village of Eext. A beautiful place to bike and walk directly from. Our farmhouse is suitable as a guesthouse for a family of 2 to 5 persons, or for two couples (two separate bathrooms). We have restored and furnished our old farmhouse with much love and attention. Lovers of art and history will find plenty to enjoy here. (Incl. a closet with literature about art and history of Drenthe) You stay in the front house that is decorated in old Drenthe atmosphere: downstairs you will find old red ceilings, wooden floors and a real box bed. Through a long window in the roof the sunlight falls into the heart of the farmhouse, into the spacious hall, loft and bathroom. The walls of the farmhouse are all plastered with clay in soft earth tones. In the old attic is a ping-pong table.

Eext is part of the National Park Drentsche Aa, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands. In it, Eext is one of the best-preserved quiet bric-a-brac villages, with seven large bric-a-brac. (From the large oaks growing thereon the trusses of the farms were once made). Around the village are extensive fields with small asphalt roads and dirt roads. Through a beautiful varied forest you can walk straight to the brink village of Anloo or, further on, along the winding stream valley of the Drentsche Aa. Walking across the large Balloërveld you can see the flock of sheep coming home across the heathland. There are beautiful varied bike rides to be made to the brink villages of Annen, Gasteren, Rolde and Balloo, across the heathlands, sandy soils and larger forests of the Hondsrug. To the west lie the historic moors of the Hunzedal, where nature is being developed with small roads and bicycle paths.
