The nature house is a former farmhouse from 1668. The monumental fireplace, old tile walls and the bedsteads in the old room give it atmosphere and coziness. The room can be heated with the wood stove. Two electric heaters are available for short-term heating. In the bathroom there is an infrared panel. The living room, kitchen, 1 bedroom (double bed) and the bathroom are on the first floor; a second bedroom (double bed + children's bed) on the 2nd floor. From the living room you look out over the meadows. The farmhouse is detached on a plot of 1850 m². Garden chairs/table and bicycles are available. On the property there is a barn with an adjacent covered seating area and a garage, converted into a small house (with toilet and small kitchenette), where there is also possible sleeping accommodation for two children. You can stay here contactless. Only for the transfer of the key and possibly some explanation about the nature house there will be contact.

The nature house is located on a dead-end road between the meadows in the outskirts of Drachten. It concerns the northern forest region. If you go cycling or walking you will encounter many old tree walls and experience the beautiful vistas of the coulisse landscape. Less than ten minutes away by bike is the lake De Leien and surrounding nature. Furthermore, also within cycling distance, among others, the National Park the Alde Feanen, the Bergumer lake, The Open Air Museum and Theme Park De Spitkeet and several nice small villages. For culture and shopping in the area you can visit Drachten, but of course it is also nice to spend a day in Leeuwarden or Dokkum.
