The nature house is a vacation home in a fully restored detached former barn in its own yard. This vacation home contains all the facilities of a residential house, with its own entrance large living room with open kitchen and wood stove, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and even a utility room. It is wonderful to relax in the fully sustainable converted house with mud walls, underfloor heating and a beautiful view over the polder. There are free 2 bicycles available, for coffee there is a Nespresso or cafetiere. There are chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats on the property. For children there is a trampoline in the orchard and a lovely field to look for critters or search for frogs in the ditch. We have grown almost everything ourselves, down to the round railing of the stairs with branches from our own garden. The materials and furnishings are durable and of high quality. The vacation home is spacious with several places to retreat and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The nature house is located in Unesco world heritage site the Beemster. You can enjoy cycling, hiking or boating. Only 20 car minutes from Amsterdam, near the picturesque de Rijp, Middenbeemster or Volendam and Edam. Alkmaar and Zaandam are also nearby, as well as the Zaanse schans. The vacation home has unobstructed views over the polder, there are many farm stores nearby as well as the Cono cheese factory where the famous Beemster cheese is made. When the weather is warm, you can swim in the ring canal or take a sup/boat trip in the Eilandspolder or take a whisper boat in the Rijp. The website of Laag Holland clearly lists all the possibilities for walking or cycling or shopping. A visit to the Fort Beemster Wellness Resort or the third largest collection of trees and shrubs in the Netherlands, the Beemster Arboretum are just around the corner. The beach can also be reached within 30 car minutes.
