Chalet Utrecht

Tourism contributes significantly to the economy, and the lovely Old Town, with its numerous historical buildings encircled and intersected by canals, provides a wealth of tourist attractions and attracts big crowds all year. Utrecht is Holland's vibrant, pulsing heart. It was built around the Dom tower, which can be seen from anywhere in the city, so it's impossible to get lost in the charming, car-free city center.

You may live in a lovely chalet in Utrecht, and the city boasts gorgeous canals with spectacular wharf cellars hosting cafés and terraces by the water. Hundreds of other structures, in addition to the Dom tower, contribute to the unique ambiance of this centuries-old university town. The chalets in Utrecht are one of a kind, and Nature House has completely furnished them so that you may enjoy the finest experience possible.

Behold Nature from your Chalet in Utrecht

The city of Utrecht's newest forest was mostly developed by its residents. On the west side of De Haar Castle, Parkbos de Haar was established on the initiative of Natuurmonumenten and others. 15,000 people came to the Haarzuilens estate to plant a tree during the tree planting days in November 2015. Approximately 7,000 trees were planted in the ground. The land is being developed, and the forest must become more lovely with each passing season. This should form a large recreational area with Geertjeshoeve, Klein Limburg, Wielrevelt, and Kasteel de Haar.

Around the Haarrijnse lake, beaver traces have been discovered. A forester from Natuurmonumenten had already noticed a beaver at Landgoed Haarzuilens. The beaver's appearance so close to the metropolis came as a complete shock. The Haarzuilens estate was designed as a recreational place for Utrecht inhabitants. It's a bustling neighborhood with numerous hiking and biking routes. Even though the estate is a leisure location, there is plenty of room for wildlife. There are many peaceful and mountainous areas for animals to roam. The arrival of the beaver is a clear indication that the animal is thriving well and expanding its territory.

Top Things to Do

A stroll along the lovely Oudegracht, the old canal that runs through the city center, is a highlight of any visit to Utrecht. The Oudegracht begins in the city's southeast area and follows a portion of what was once the original channel of a piece of the Rhine, while the northern section includes pieces of a canal built around AD 1000 to connect the Rhine to the River Vecht.

A visit to the Utrecht University Botanic Gardens is a nice diversion for individuals with green thumbs – or those who simply enjoy beautiful green landscapes and gardens. This lovely 22-acre park, centered around the old abandoned Fort Hoofddijk, is a relatively contemporary construction (it was laid out in the late 20th century), yet it can trace its roots back to the university's early days in the 17th century.

There are six different gardens to see in total. The Birders Den (unsurprisingly, it's popular with bird-watchers) and the Bee Hotel, with its vast collection of pollinating insects, are two favorites. It's also worth seeing the tropical greenhouses. The gardens are open from the beginning of spring to the end of December. To get the most out of your visit, try to attend one of the regular and informative guided tours (and explore on your own afterward). The charming Garden Café is a delightful treat, and there is also an on-site shop.
