Copenhagen holidays

As the capital of the beautiful Nordic country of Denmark, Copenhagen is definitely one of the most visited cities in Europe. With its stunning architecture and typical Dane culture, it captivates the attention of visitors to the city. However, as it appears nature is just as significant to the local population as their famous architecture. The whole Copenhagen is covered in a blanket of green from early spring to late autumn, accommodating the need for nature of every person on its premises. Gardens, parks and even cemeteries provide shade during the summer and beautiful views along the walkways all year long.

Book your next trip with us and enjoy the beautiful Dane scenery during your Copenhagen holiday. We will ensure everything in connection to your stay is ready for you and according to your preferences. The holiday apartments and traditional nature houses will accommodate you ensuring your needs are met and you feel comfortable during your stay.

Explore nature

The most prominent example of how important nature really is to the people of Denmark is the fact that they turn cemeteries into beautiful park areas, which are used as transportation ways and recreational areas on a daily basis. In the cemetery parks you will find picturesque walkways and green fields suitable for picnics. We cannot skip mentioning King’s Garden – one of the most famous green spots in the city! This flower oasis was created by King Christian IV so that he could enjoy the beauty of the garden from the windows of his palace.

Staying in the city is not your only option. Transportation is very modernized and suitable for day trips. You can visit Westamager – a natural area of 20 square kilometers which is roughly a quarter of the Amager Island, on which Copenhagen is situated. Westamager is a former seabed with numerous islets or small hills. You can use the hills as viewpoints and enjoy the scenery of the tidal marshes. The area is also significant for bird protection; it is also populated by deer and horses and falls under the Natura-2000 scheme.

Also just outside the city, a woodland provides visitors with the peace and quiet they have been looking for. The fresh Nordic air is of highest quality here in Dyrehaven, where you can enjoy the stunning landscape of forests and lakes. Dyrehaven means “deer park” and is named like this due to the fact that more than 2000 free range deer roam its territory, turning the place also into a UNESCO-recognized heritage site.

Activities to enjoy

Following the Roskilde Fjord area and along the artificial canal, you will eventually end up at Arresø – the largest lake in the country and a great place for a day of hiking. There are many rivers and small streams in between beautiful hills, which serve as viewpoints from the west shore of the lake. But if you are looking for places suitable for watersports, head to the beaches of Amager. Sydhavnstippen is a green area of a Copenhagen neighborhood. You can get here on a short bike trip from the center and enjoy a sunny day in the company of sheep and alpacas. The area has been gaining popularity as a day trip location in recent years due to its lush vegetation and pristine water surrounding it.
