Vierhouten is surrounded by forest and heath areas. Our nature house is in the middle of it, in the largest silence area (on land) of the Netherlands. Around the estate are forests that are very old and consist of different types. Some parts are real drift sand forests and consist mainly of Scots pines. From the estate you step right into nature, such as the Vierhouterbos, for example, with its ancient male forests with mainly tall beeches. In the forests surrounding the property also lives a lot of big game, such as deer and wild boar, and now also wolves. If you walk quietly in the surrounding area, it is not unusual to see big game. In the fall, the belling of the deer can be easily heard from the estate.
