The house is located in the National Park Drentsche Aa and is on the Pieterpad. The area such as Schipborg and Zeegse are ideal for cyclists, mountain bikers and hikers and prehistoric dolmens can be seen within walking distance. About 1.5 km away is a small Coop In Zuidlaren (3 km) you have many nice stores, restaurants and 3 large supermarkets. On Fridays there is a market. In Zuidlaren is a subtropical swimming pool and for the children you have the Sprookjeshof. In Annen you have an outdoor pool. You can swim or canoe in the Drentsche Aa, or a little further, in the Zuidlaarder meer. Groningen and Assen are within 20 minutes driving distance with many cultural opportunities, including the Groninger or Asser museum, a day of terraces or shopping.
