Nature and surroundings
Our vacation home is located on the edge of the village with a wonderful view. If you want to be woken up by birdsong and enjoy the company of squirrels and the like, you've come to the right place.Winden was first mentioned in documents in 1250 by Archbishop Arnold of Trier, who then had the church at Winden transferred to Arnstein Monastery by Countess Mechthild of Sayn. The village is located in the middle of a varied hiking and mountain biking area in the Westerwald, bordering on the Taunus, where you can enjoy views as far as the Taunus and the Feldberg. Immediately around the house there are several hiking and mountain biking trails that branch off into various valleys, and the meadows and pastures around the village are home to horses, sheep, goats and cows, and there is a small idyllic natural lake in the nearby village of Holzappel.
