Our house since the 19th century was a small inn reachable only on foot, in the 60s the village of San Clemente was abandoned and the inn closed. In these five years Claudia and I have renovated it and today we can fully enjoy the beauty and nature of the place. We like sharing the place with tourists and we have dedicated an indipendent room with en-suite bathroom to them. We are at 500m, on top of a hill that stands out over the Lombard lakes, a few steps from us the Sanctuary of San Clemente. The whole hill has lost its vocation for pastoralism and agriculture, now it is covered by a beautiful forest where you can meet hares, roe deer, badgers, deer, foxes and many species of birds. A well at the beginning of the village supplies pure water while at home we have cisterns for collecting rainwater because there is no aqueduct, we heat up and cook with wood: a simple life learned over the years spent in Africa assisting farmers for me and working for environmental policies for Claudia

At just 300 meters from the house there is a beautiful 12th century church and a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore. We are surrounded by woods where you can take easy and light walks. The house can be reached on foot from two railway stations in just 30 minutes on an easy path. once at the base of the hill you can easily reach Laveno where it is possible to embark and reach the other side of the lake and from here arrive at the Val Grande National Park and Monte Rosa (4.634m a.s.l.) Descending from the hill you find yourself in a renowned climbing wall where you can practice climbing. The sport biking is widely practised, we can shelter your bikes in closed room. Nearby it is possible to visit villages, natural beauties, waterfalls, paths on peaks and woods.
