Log cabins Ireland

Ireland is one of the greenest countries in Europe, located on a beautiful island in the Atlantic Ocean and home to plenty of cultural traditions even to this day. This green paradise is relatively flat and covered in woodland, however a ring of coastal mountain almost forms a circle around the plains at the center of the island.

Booking a log cabin ensures a unique experience on your trip to Ireland. An experience among nature where you will reconnect with yourself and rediscover the joy of being in the great outdoors. Log cabins are a perfect getaway from the noise and crowdedness of metropolitan areas. Staying in a cabin creates a perfect natural atmosphere for you and your travel companions. Despite being located in secluded areas, the log cabins are equipped with modern amenities making sure your needs for comfort are met.

Discover the green Irish territories

There are more than 70 protected areas in Ireland, with Killarney being the first ever national park to open. As a protected UNESCO Biosphere this national park is home to a rich ecosystem of traditional plant and animal species. The territory of the park also includes the little town of Killarney, as well as a few private estate chateaus, turned into park attractions due to the beautiful gardens adjoining them. The views from both Muckross House and Kellarney House are spectacular and worth the visit.

The highest mountain in the country is situated in Kellarney National Park – Torc Mountain. The whole area of the mountain range is filled with hidden natural gems like caves and waterfalls. Torc Waterfall is probably the most spectacular and it is located on a short walk at the base of the mountain.

Activities

Discovering Ireland is an adventure from the beginning to the end. The nature is spectacular, and you will feel at ease even on the hardest hiking trail. Gap of Dunloe is a great place to start your adventure – it’s a narrow pass between two mountains. The walk and the views are exceptional, and this is also a great photo location to capture the true Irish beaty of nature.

Powerscourt Waterfall is the tallest waterfall in the country. The waterfall is surrounded by an impressive landscape and is a short trip away from the country’s capital. There is a route to the waterfall, however this one is reserved only for the most experienced among you! It is way better to travel there by other transportation and use the spare time to admire the views.

If you have decided to visit Kellarney House and Gardens, consider our next suggestion as a must on your day trip to the area. Starting from the estate, a great walking trail makes its way through the woods, along the River Deenagh. Except for being a stunningly beautiful path crossing a few bridges, the panoramas which you will be able to enjoy from the highest point of this trail are astounding. You will be able to take pictures with a view of the Lough Leane (Lower Lake) and the top of MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain.
