Villa Brandenburg

Brandenburg is a northeastern province in Germany, which surrounds the Berlin Metropolitan area. The beautiful German town Potsdam is the official province capital. The German province is well known across the world for its ambitious policies and accomplishments with regards to environment protection. In fact, there are 15 protected areas, among which one national park, three biosphere reserves and eleven nature parks.

As a consequence of preservation policies and the culture of the local population, the whole province is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. We offer plenty of different villa options with different amenities to fit your needs. The hosts are friendly and always open to offer you guidance towards the best experiences nearby your villa. Reconnect with nature while admiring the unique biodiversity of Northeastern Germany.

The wild nature of Brandenburg

The Spreewald Biosphere reserve is definitely the best-known nature park in Brandenburg. Beautiful unspoiled nature in a combination with unique German culture await visitors to this protected area. As a former swamp, the land was covered in dense vegetation and uninhabitable. Nowadays, this is a favorite recreational area for Germans and more importantly a home to many wild animals such as deer, badgers, and boars. Using a boat to navigate through the reserve is a popular transportation method – some of the villages are even only accessible in such a manner.

The only national park on the Brandenburg territory is the Lower Oder Valley national Park. This nature reserve is shared between Germany and Poland and is located along the banks of river Oder. The German side lies on the western riverbank and is relatively flatter than the eastern side in Poland. The protected area is home to different animal species and is considered an important habitat for birds. The Lower Oder Valley is a great breeding and resting spot for thousands of birds.

One of the most beautiful places in Brandenburg is the Lower Lusatian Ridge Nature Park. This area is a former mining area which has now turned into a green paradise with lakes, forests and dunes. There are numerous animals living here, including some of the biggest geese and cranes populations. A range of hills known as the wooded land ridge, is one of the most famous recreational areas in the province.

Activities

The Lower Lusatian Ridge Nature Park is a famous recreational area. You could enjoy the nature of Brandenburg on one of the trails in the Calauer Schweiz and Gehrener Berge range. Cycle through the picturesque villages nearby and admire their cultural heritage – old fieldstone churches and typical German architecture. Take the Kranichraweg cycle path and your bike for a trip through this nature park and into the neighboring Spreewald Biosphere Reserve.

On top of all that, if you want to learn more about the European fauna, head to one of more than 20 zoo centers and animal biospheres in the province, where you can get acquainted with the habitat of many animal species; children can also participate in feeding rituals of baby animals.
